Unwind Trilogy- Neal Shusterman

Unwind Review!

Hey guys! Now that school is finally out, Emma and I will have lots more time to read and review. So, to kick it off I thought I would do a review of Neal Shusterman's trilogy Unwind. As you may or may not know, the third book in the series (UnSouled) is not scheduled to be released until October 15th, 2013. You can pre-order it now on at the  Barns and Noble website. I will attach the link below!

Brief summary WITHOUT spoilers:
In this dystopian society, kids from the ages thirteen to eighteen can be signed up by their parents to be "unwound". Being unwound means all of the kid's body parts are disassembled and transplanted to different donors and that they are "living in the divided state".  Connor, Risa, and Lev are all signed up to be unwound, but together they just might be able to escape.

My Review:
This series was perfect! It had just enough creepy in it to satisfy, but I could still read it before bed with out being terrified to sleep alone in the dark! Both books also really make you think about your beliefs and what you would do to stop such a corrupt and unjust society. One thing I really love about both books is how you get to read from multiple character's perspectives! If you loved the Hunger Games and Maze Runner, you will love these books. I am so pumped for UnSouled to be released. Below is a preview of the cover for the final book in the Trilogy!

What I'm Reading

Hello!

Today I thought I would update y'all on what I am currently reading. I went to BookPeople on Tuesday (see last post) and picked up a few new things. First, I bought The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and let me just say, I am so excited to read it! I have heard so many great things about this author and can't wait to crack open this novel. I also picked up Moonglass by Jessi Kirbi. I think I am going to wait to read this until summer because its a beach themed read, as you can tell from the title. What are you reading? Give us book suggestions in the comments below!

WHAT?! I Met Sarah Dessen?!

Hello Hello, Everyone!

Last Tuesday I got the opportunity to see Sarah Dessen (my absolute favorite author of all time) at Book People. As soon as I saw the flyer, I new I had to go. Unfortunately, Peyton couldn't come, but I am here to give y'all the scoop.

Sarah read an excerpt from her new book (to be released June 4), The Moon and More-- it sounds amazing! Be on the look out for it on shelves this summer or preorder it on Amazon!

The author also had time to answer a few questions from the audience. She shared that she and her husband love Austin, and her daughter is rambunctious!

Book Review- Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Summary (Goodreads): What if you only had one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?

Samantha Kingston has it all: looks, popularity, the perfect boyfriend. Friday, February 12, should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it turns out to be her last.

The catch: Samantha still wakes up the next morning. Living the last day of her life seven times during one miraculous week, she will untangle the mystery surrounding her death—and discover the true value of everything she is in danger of losing.

Emma's Review: I thought this book was absolutely captivating! I literally found myself reading chapter after chapter as quickly as I could to find out what Samantha would do next. The plot itself is so unique! I mean who else could come up with this kind of an occurrence? Only the lovely Lauren Oliver herself! When I was reading this book I seriously couldn't put it down! It was so interesting and a great story for when you are struggling with your next read. The characters in this novel are simply intriguing, you will become so attached to them, just as I had! I feel that I kept thinking about the plot and the characters a long while after reading this book, and I just couldn't help myself! This is a nail biting, fun, and alluring book! It gets a five star rating from me!
